We started TenMarks to create a better way for students to learn - one that focuses on the student and their individual needs, is interactive and engaging, takes advantage of new technologies, and caters to the changes in student expectations and behavior. Our mission is to positively impact the lives of 20 million students in 5 years - a tall order we know, but we are a passionate group of people!
In early 2011, our vision and passion began delivering results. In just a few months, tens of thousands of classrooms and hundreds of thousands of students accessed millions of lessons on TenMarks. The feedback has been amazing. Teachers tell us their students are engaged like never before, and their skills and scores are up, way up. Students rave that they enjoy learning as they do the work, and how they're motivated to score a 10/10. We're humbled by the feedback, and can't wait to do more.
TenMarks was born during a dining table squabble between our founder Rohit and his niece, a seventh grader who didn't believe she needed to learn ratios because what was done was done,
and the class had moved on to probability. Our other founder Andrew, who was struggling to find engaging math enrichment choices for his daughters, solidified the sentiment that something needed to change. Very quickly the potential became clear, and lifetime educators Dr. Chris Moynihan and Mike Roland joined us, as did a passionate team of engineers, designers, and math educators - all committed to our mission.
Now, in our offices in downtown San Francisco with the unbeatable energy around innovation and technology, and outside Boston, where education is a religion, we're working hard to bring to life our creative ideas and vision. Every day, talented engineers and designers work hand in hand with content and education experts to be part of an education revolution, so all kids can have a strong foundation, leading to a stronger future.
